“Nothing more than a backpackers' place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

My company had chosen this hotel for its location, the positive reviews and -most certainly- the price. I have to say that the location is great: right behind one of the nicest streets in Tirana with lovely bars and cafés. A street that you can reach going through one of these bars (cafe Medusa) after leaving the hotel.

However, the room I had was dark and tiny. The bathroom was one of the smallest I have ever seen in my life and the walls needed to be re-painted. The furniture was quite outdated and gave no chance to move around. It was like living in a gloomy monastery. It is absolutely NOT worth the price we paid considering the cost of living in Albania. The breakfast was included, but you have to be an early bird you you want to have some choice. The TV satellite was not included in the price so you have to pay extra (and did not even worked for me when I purchased it for a night - that did not stop them for charging me for it while they did not try to find a solution to fix it). The internet wifi was NOT working in my room, so you can only connect using the short cable: not very comfortable.

To put it in a nutshell, if you are there for chill out holidays, fine. But if you are there for professional reasons and for a duration of more than 3 days: run away. Especially since they don't have an elevator: you will have to carry your luggage yourself to the 2nd or 3rd floor...

For longer durations, they are better options that you will find once there or in the different websites or guides (once arrived, get the free City of Tirana guide: very helpful!).

Room Tip: Rooms on the 3rd floor are bigger.

“Very good sleep; excellent value”

Small hotel, very well placed within about 5 minutes walk from major city points. Back from main road, so my simple single was very quiet. Very effective heating and aircon, and a great quality bed and bedding led to great nights sleep.
Receptionists all spoke English and were helpful, Payment by cash is preferred.
Did not try wifi as hard-wired network cable was offered to provide free internet in the room, which worked well for the three days I was there.
Bathroom functioned fine with a shower and individual hot water heater.
A mini-bar is available but there are two supermarkets within a block for cheaper basic produce.
Breakfast is buffet style, and despite the comment by another reviewer, was both fresher and more varied than most I have found in a 3-star hotel (cereal; boiled egg; ham/salami; bread plus toaster; butter; jam; yoghurt; fruit; choc croissant).
A very good stay.

“decent hotel, nice staff and owner, expensive considering cost of living in Abania”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

We arrived in Tirane by bus from Monte Negro and started looking for a room. We tried one hotel which was full, then 2 others unsuccessfully. As we walked back past the first one the owner ran out and told us we could stay in their other hotel (City) because there'd been a cancellation. We could have it for 50 euros per nightr instead of the usual 70. Her husband took us there in his car and we discovered it's in the same street where the Prime Minister of Albania lives. (They blocked the road off once to allow his convoy to go a few hundred yards down the street to a ministry). The owner described the area as "The Chelsea of Tirane".
The hotel was friendly, clean (fanatical non-smoking policy, a real treat in Albania), and perfectly adequate. Considering the rock-bottom cost of living in Albania, I thought the hotel could have been over-priced at 70 euros per night, but had no way to compare the standard with cheaper establishments.

“City center but rather simple”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

The best about this hotel is its location. The city center is only for a 2 minutes walking distance. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Not much more to be excited about the hotel.
We arrived very late night and booked a hotel transfer with our rooms. The driver did not show up so we had to pick a taxi from the street.
I stayed for 2 days in a standard single room what was quite small and sometimes noisy because it faced a busy street. The breakfast was quite simple.
The price however is reasonable for the value it delivers.
