This hotel is not a bad hotel.
Yes it's a little dated now with the furniture, bathrooms etc but, and if you are going by the DPRK's standards, the its 5*. In the UK or Europe it would be a 3* and thats because it would get + marks for the bowling alley, pool etc.
The rooms are clean enough but the towels arent exactly the largest or made with the finest materials so i would bring your own!!
As i said, its the DPRK and if you come here expecting a maldives or Dubai type hotel with all the trimmings then you really have came to the wrong place.
The bar is alright and fun to meet up with other people on your tour or maybe other groups who might be there at that time. Ditto for the Karaoke bar (note: you pay for the amount of songs you sing in your group at the end!)
Everyone says about the rooms being bugged. Who knows and do you really care? iF so then dont come to North Korea. Lets be honest, you arent going to be able to do your own thing here anyway (you cant leave the hotel yourself, you have to have guides (government employees of course).
WOuld i come back? yes. for the quirky 70's-early 80's factor. And for Pyongyang itself for the 1960's soviet style city.
