I am surprised by the other reviews of this hotel. The Sofitel in Malabo is DEFINITELY not up to normal Sofitel standards. I was here several times on business before the opening of the new Hilton which blows Sofitel out of the water. While good for Malabo, there are so many disfunctions... the internet actually does not work in the rooms, the lunch buffet is recycled over several days (I noticed one of the serving pans with the exact same amount of food taken out over 3 days) and the bar services is awful. It's only redeemed by Ana who is helpful and a decent pool area. Definitely go stay at Hilton.

I was on business trip to Malabo in Nov 2011 and stayed at Sofitel Presidente for 3 weeks.

My stay at sofitel was excellent. The food was excellent. For breakfast/ lunch time there is an open buffet with a variety of foods, salads, pastries etc.

There is free internet with Wifi connection in the rooms.

Sofitel is one of the best hotels in Malabo. I will strongly recommend this hotel.

Sofitel Malabo is probably by far the best hotel in town (and probably the whole country).
Nice swimming pool, nice restaurant, good location, nice bar... nice terraza. I would recommend it to anyone coming to town.

First, credit must be given to the two persons most responsible for the excellent experience of the Malabo Sofitel: Sylvain and Ana, the top managers. They are truly dedicated professionals and they are totally focused on customer satisfaction. They really do care, they know their business, and it shows. They are your key to success in Malabo. I have nothing but praise for them. I know: With the exception of twoo weeks i stayed there continuously from February to August of this year.
