“Walking distance to everything”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Very central location. Well priced apartment units. Self contained, self-catering facilities. The three things that I always look for and this places checks all three.

Practically in the city of Suva, the capital, Capricorn Apartments are walking distance to pretty much everything in Suva city so very handy if you're reliant on public transport and prefer the security and peace of mind of having everything close. Otherwise there are usually taxis driving past you can hail at a moments notice rather than having to get reception call one in. Walk down the road and you're basic in the central city area, where there are numerous shops and also eating places, cinemas, markets, and the main bus station from where you can buses and minibuses around suva, to neighbouring towns and also the coaches that further afield like the popular Coral Coast and the western towns including Nadi, the main gateway in and out of the country.

The room itself was fully self contained with ample storage area in the fully equipped kitchen, that had the usual toaster, kettle and easy to use gas stove. Also had a full size two door fridge instead of a small bar fridge. Kitchen had all necessary utensils, dishes, pots and pans. There was a nice sofa and a table, and the room came with a double bed and a single. The personal balcony had views of the Suva city and waterfront and looked down on the pool. The hotel felt very safe and secure, with the front entrance open during the day and evening but after that was manned by security staff which is pretty good given the central location.

“Dirty and disgusting - non refundable once booked”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

The place is in the heart of Suva alright but you can find accommodation 10 times better for your money. Out of the 4 hotels in Suva and 1 in Lami I stayed at, it is the worst place and nothing like the pictures. Okay, maybe I would have avoided writing this but the staff and their services just gave it away. The room was dirty, old bed-sheets and appliances even worse. Nice view but you cant go to sleep with the view. Big mistake and hell I was born in Fiji.

Room Tip: hope for a renovation.

“Very helpful staff - ideal for business in Suva”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

I took my children with me to attend a meeting in Tamavua, and since it was the last week of school, thought it a good time for my children to relax away from home and school and also to have easy access to Suva town. We caught a very early bus and arrived before check in time but did go and check in straight away as I had communicated to them the need for us to check in early. Staff was very helpful, recognized straightaway that we were the "early check in" and gave us our room key straight away. I liked it that we just had to walk to town for a meal or buy and cook something in our apartment. Agree... the pool needed a good clean as well as the shower and hand basin in our room but apart from that..... we all enjoyed the 2 day stay there and I would stay there again if the need arises.

Room Tip: Studio Apartment Upstairs is an excellent room - facing the city and sea

“Cheap and in the heart of Suva City.”

This place is accessible to every main Offices if you are travelling to meet and deal business in Fiji. Suva is the Head Quarters of the Government of Fiji and staying at this Hotel makes it easier to talk business at your door steps. Only 10minutes walk to the Government Buildings and stone-throw to restaurants and coffee shops, appointments can be scheduled in every 30minutes of an hour giving you ample time to prepare for the next one in which you can complete your planned business trip in a day.
Rooms are very basic. This is not a 3* (Star) or a 5* hotel. Just somewhere to relax in between your schedule meetings. Clean and comfortable. All rooms are self contained.

Suva has lots of souvenir shops if you looking to take some memories back home. From Handicraft shops, gifts and jewelry shops to clothes shops. Very cheap and lots of room to bargain.
