Raintree Lodge, perched above a spring-fed quarry pond surrounded by diverse forests and staffed by beautiful, smiling locals, gives you a chance to breathe deeply in quiet, clean air, while enjoying hot showers, good food and friendly hosts.
There’s a gym I didn’t use, near the pretty little pool I also ignored, because I was there for the forests and the ponds, and of course, the bar. Then again, I am easily entertained. For needier travelers, hop on the two-buck bus to Suva town and wander around the flea market, or the fresh food market, and get some pineapple and popo -- or just pop into Raintree’s bar and cafe for a pool table and beer (Happy Hour, 5-7!).
Good folks, good food, great views. Stop reading reviews and book a dorm or a bure. GO!
