We decided to stay here on the first night and the last night of our stay in Fiji just as a stopover.

We checked in quite late on the first night and the issues started at reception. The lady behind the front desk was not very friendly. The porter was very rude and quite scary. He looked more like a security gard than a porter. My husband and I looked at each other and agreed this wasnt a very good start. We werent expecting glitz and glamour as we knew this was a budget hotel. However we also werent expecting what we saw. The state of the room was filthy. So much so that you were disgusted to even sit on the bed. There were 3 single beds in the room which was ok as it was just one night. However the mattress on the bottom was all grey and dirty and had holes in it. The toilet and shower looked like a public toilet and were very old and dirty... you couldnt even bath in there with thongs on, let alone sit on the toilet seat. The air con also wasnt working which didnt help the situation. There was a small lock behing the door which didnt feel secure at all.

The scariest thing was there was another door in our room with a latch on it. When we asked reception they said it was the next room to us. The only thing separating it was a latch? There must;ve been about 6 fijian guys in that room at the time who were yelling and smoking and the smell came into our room. There is no way we couldve slept there with the noise and the smoke smell.

My husband who isnt very fussy, demanded we find another room. The telephone was so dirty I had to hold it away from my ear. We finally found another room at Raffles Gateway (muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhh nicer). We checked out and never returned.

we showed up out of no where and they offered us a room right away. we stayed in a basic room, bed fridge, and private bathroom & shower, for 2 weeks! we loved every minute of it! the staff was more than helpful! the food was fantastic! and the it was right in the middle of everything! our cleaning lady was the sweetest! when we go back we will for sure stay here! we loved it!!

We had to do a quick budget trip to Fiji and were booked into West Motor Inn. After reading the reviews on this site I was a little concerned so contacted the hotel to get an upgrade. They did this with no hassle. Can't understand what all the fuss is about, sure the rooms are a little tired but they are budget and they are clean which is more than I can say for some of the more up market places I have stayed. The staff were awesome and the restuarant was very nice and not over priced. I would happily return to West Motor Inn if I needed to stay in Nadi again.

If you are looking for something really nice look elsewhere. If you just want to be in the middle of the action (just step outside the front gates) for nadi standards this is it. Rooms are ok, clean, basic. Turn the shower on flushes the toilet, flush the toilet turns the tv on and so on. A laugh a minute. If you sit back accept melanesian time, take life as it comes and see the funny side of things you can have a ball here. The bar is good for a quiet drink although understocked but Eds and the Bounty bars are walking distance. Clean pool etc. poolside rooms are better then the std rooms. They are building apartments at the rear with new pool which should be excellent providing things work. If you loved Faulty Towers this is the place for you. I met some real chracters at the bar and havent laughed so much in years. Security and staff were great. Dont use the front shop, far too expensive. In normal circumstances I would never stay in a hotel like this but I had so much fun I am going back in DEC and will be staying at Wests again. Just for the laughs..
