“Seriously....just walk to the Raffles next door!”

Starting from the grumpy receptionist through an uncomfortable night in a highly over-priced room which hasn't seen an inch of renovation in over ten years (awful, springy mattress, mouldy bathroom walls, musty smelling cupboards and exposed wires), there was nothing but disappointment at Tokatoka. We went next door to the Raffles Hotel to catch up with family and were amazed to see what a difference in quality just a few metres made. And to add salt to the wound, Raffles was cheaper as well! Save yourself the disappointed and don't bother going to Tokatoka.

“day stop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This is the second time we have used Tokatoka as a day stop, not an overnight. The first was about 5 years ago and at the end of December 2011 we had a 14 hour layover in Nadi on the was to USA. I maded the booking by email, checkin staff were courteous and friendly, we spent the day around the pool, great waterslide, which is the reason we went back the second time my son loved it, had lunch by the pool, I went for a massage for which they had a special deal on so was very good price, had a bit of a rest in the room before returning to the airport. This resort is great for a stop or layover due to its close proximity to the airport and the complimentary shuttle bus service to and from the airport.

“Bugs and Dirty!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Now, I don't know if all the decent rooms were taken..but we stayed 1 night before our flight home after spending all days sitting waiting for flood waters to come down between villages. We weren't picky, it was midnight by the time we got there, they had a room, it was cheap. It was good that there was 24 hour reception. Our room was a "family" room I believe although there was just 2 of us.
The room? Well, there was bugs/cockroaches crawling all over the bathroom and main room. Especially amongst all the complimentary coffee/sugar sachets. The room smelt, the bathroom was dirty, there was no towels (which was no problem to get when we called) and the sheets of the bed and the pillow covers look used. Ick! We made sure out suitcase/bags were zipped in case bugs try to get in. There was air con and that worked well, so at least we were cool. Was too afraid to call for room service for something to eat given the room condition and didn't even try breakfast. Could NOT wait to get out of the place. Even the lobby and the couches were dirty. I would never, ever, ever go back..I'd rather sleep in the taxi that we had spent most of the day in! It was cleaner!

Room Tip: Our room was 25a, it was awful..don't know what the other rooms are like.

“Average hotel”

This was the third time we stayed at the Tokatoka Resort as a stop over and quite possibly our last.We have always chosen this hotel for the location and great pool as it has a good waterslide for the kids however after an uncomfortable nights sleep we will probably try Raffles Gateway next time due to good reviews on here.Although the room was very spacious(we stayed in a family room) I feel the air conditioning was under powered for the room.We may as well of not had it. Beds are'nt real comfortable either. We didnt even eat at the restaurant as we have discovered a great little restaurant close by in Nadi called "Sitar" which serves mainly Indian food at reasonable prices.

“haha Tokatoka”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Tokatoka resort is it is what it is...probably good for a 1 night stay and not nights. Location is whats best about this hotel i guess. Poor service yet more work can be put into this. Best feature would probably be the pool, good way to spend the day with the family. Overall more can be done to lift the service
