stay one nite before going back to MEL ,the hotel clean and room space O.K but furniture are a bit old.Hotel replaced all TiVi with flat screen .The include full buffet breakfast to start
a day is good and it is next to a swimming pool.The hotel staffs are polite and helpful I remember Quinie (with glasses) and Shenol at the hotel restaurant very happy and try to make you enjoy the good local foods.Another restaurant Outer Reef about 2 min by Taxi from the hotel have live music ,fresh seafood(lobster) with reasonable price.I request to late checkout approved right away but I have been late another 40 min then Room Manager came to our room to check that everything O.K or not but polite.So I see check-in or check-out were easy ,quick at Tanoa and the shuttle bus to the airport is convenience for who want a short stay value in Nadi.

Stayed here for a night here before heading out to the islands.It is very close to airport and we got the courtesy shuttle with no problems.
The rooms were quite big and clean and had a great shower - nice after a long flight.
Staff were ok not as friendly as in the rest of fiji. Rooms although clean were very tired and tv had to be tuned in.
We stayed here again after our trip out to the islands and there was no problem to leave our spare bag there free of charge until we returned which was helpful.
There is nothing else around so you have to eat in restaurant which is ok but not great

The Tanoa is not anywhere near what you would call international standard - more like a tired country motel. The big plus is its close to the airport for one night stay overs when other travel arrangements don't meet (but the shuttle bus is unreliable and once we had to resort to a local taxi which was only a few dollars). There is no concievable reason you would stay more than one night. Rooms are clean but tired (there are TV's but the reception was so bad they were unusable, the airconditioning only has one setting - freeezing, and the bar fridge was so noisy we had to turn it off to sleep). The restaurant is adequate at best, as is the pool. Unlike everywhere else in Fiji getting a smile from most of the staff is rare. The high stanbard of resorts elsewhere in Fiji means that if you do have to spend a night here on the way home you will be disappointed - which is probably unfair - the Tanoa is really an overnight transit lounge - and thats all it is.

Stayed here one night each way (with visit to islands in between) in and out of Nadi, a few minutes from the airport, with a free shuttle bus (if you time it right, otherwise was just F$5 in taxi) and it is quite acceptable. Reasonable sized room, safe, TV, tea and coffee making, iron and board, small outside seating area. Staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is low rise, set in lush gardens and there’s a swimming pool (a bit public as by the restaurant and bar area). Food at the restaurant was good. I’ve certainly stayed in far worse airport hotels (and didn't have any wildlife in my room).
