Arrived in the early morning at Club Raro waited for reception as he was doing security check around the resort. We had booked a standard room with a double bed and two singles at a cost of $220 per night. Aircon did not work very well so used the bedroom fan to try and cool down. This was not very comfortable at all. No cold water in the room at all no glasses, we had an electric jug but no tea, coffee, sugar or milk, no cups and saucers so that was of no use. By the time day light arrived the shower when used sprayed water all over the vanity unit and only two towels were available to us. I went to reception and requested more towels and asked for cups and tea and coffee and was told we could go to the restaurant and get what we needed. When we used the jug you had to hold the jug on the adaptor until it boiled. The bedside lamps did not work because their were no bulbs in them. The room did not look like it had been prepared for guests and the extra towels were bought in but nothing else was done. We stayed 2 nights and the cost did not warrant what we received. We moved out to another motel down the road KiiKii motel and paid less there for 3 nights than for the two nights at Club Raro.
I complained to reception who informed me that they would notify management who would get back to me, which has not happened. The staff member working the pool bar was the only person that provided me with the requests for glasses and milk etc.

Club Raro is not the flashest resort on Rarotonga, but was ideal for us. It was clean and tidy, the rooms were fine and the facilities were too - and the service was always very friendly and helpful.

The main benefit was that it was extremely good value for money, so if you are not looking for the flashest, up market rooms it is a very good option. What we liked about it was that we had perfectly fine accommodation, and could put the extra budget into activities and dining out etc.

If this is what you are looking for, Club Raro is ideal!

I stayed here with my partner and friend in one of the beachside rooms, the accomodation was basic but nice and had everything we needed, scooters and snorkel gear were available to use and the staff were very friendly. Swimming pool with a bar was a highlight! Great food & cocktails!

Lay back and relaxed-if that's what you want go no further than club Raro, the staff are great ( Milli) easy to talk to and the accom is great, a word of warning however the food is costly but if your on holidays who cares, the game fishing club is nearbye- cheap drinks plus the best sea food in the area, also try Trader Jacks in Avarua, all in all a great place to relax.
See you in 12 months.
