Perfect location. The room was really clean, quiet and comfortable. It was hard leaving bed in the morning… It also had a nice view of the rambla. Only pillows could be much better. The breakfast was simple, but ok. The staff could be a little more friendly. But I’d definitely recommend this hotel.

this is a old fashion hotel, still smell of smoke, room small, only location are good, next time i pay 10$ and go to a new style. Room are small, not the best choice

We (3 adults) stayed 3 nights during October 2011. The room 503 was composed by 2 rooms (one with 2 beds and the other one with 2 single beds), a nice balcony. The daily rate is fair (USD 135 per night for a triple room) with breakfast included. All the person of the reception were outstanding and very attentious.

The Hotel Ermitage is a 1950s high-rise hotel that could use a deep clean and renovation. Our room definitely smelled like smoke had permeated it for many years, and the furnishings were pretty worn. You're really better off skipping the breakfast buffet.

But for all that, it's not so bad. Our room had a nice sea view, and a new flat-screen TV that worked well. The location is nice, close to the beach, some nice restaurants and the mall. Overall, a totally middle-of-the-road old hotel experience, and a decent, if not great, option in Montevideo.
