We wanted a place in Montevideo that would approximate a home, and the Bremen was it for us. We travelled with two children, and it was very important for us to have a full kitchen in order to cook our meals at home. We were very comfortable at the Bremen and play to stay there again on our yearly trips to Montevideo.
We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment, and it was more than enough for the four of us. The living room/kitchen was spacious, with good light coming in through the windows. The kitchen had a four-burner stove and oven, full silverware, plates, pots and pans, and a good size fridge.
The apartment was cleaned very well, including the dishes being washed, every day except Sunday. The beds were made, the towels changed if you left them on the floor, and everything swept up and freshened.
The apartments include a safe, tv with cable, radio and cd player, internet access, telephone with a direct inward dial number, plenty of lighting, etc. The Bremen is located in a pintoresque neighborhood, with a great small bakery one block away. There's an excellent fruit and vegetable stand nearby, as well as a pasta store, cafes along San José Street, and access to plenty of buses to take you anywhere in the city.
The Bremen's staff are very prompt to respond to any concerns, and the price is quite fair. We were pleasantly surprised at the value we got for the money, and were very happy with the accommodations and treatment we received. We'll stay again for sure.
