The hotel was in a great location - on the border of the Pocitos and Punta Carretas neighborhoods. There were plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. It is not a large hotel and cab drivers don't know it, so make sure you have the address if you book there.
The free breakfast was ok, not great, with mostly breads and croissants, although you can order eggs if you can find a staff person to ask. There was free wi-fi throughout the hotel, which was a big plus. The hotel staff were really nice and efficient. They spoke good English, but they were patient with us practicing our Spanish.
We paid about US$170 for a basic room with 3 beds. That seemed expensive, but we had a hard time finding a place that could accommodate 3 people in one room. The room it self was just ok. The place is old and there is a certain lack of cleanliness that comes with age despite the regular cleanings. I stripped the old bed spread off and the sheets were a little worn but clean so I was able to sleep just fine. Overall, the room was acceptable so we would probably return.
