“"Will not return"”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Located on a central neighborhood with nothing of interest at all. Room was neat, bed was acceptable, small bathroom (avoid it completely if you are fat). Breakfast only acceptable. But the most ridiculous of all: you cannot have the remote control of the air conditioning set. So, everytime you want to change temperature, you have to call front desk and someone comes to adjust it! The receptionist gently told me that I could call any time, as may times as I want. But, seriously, do it during the night???? Come on!!!!!!

“.....if your from the US you are not going to like this”

Bad service and rude staff. No one helped with our bags, they just stood there watching. We payed for a parking spot(and extra 9$us) and we were toled that they sold it to someone else. O they only have 5 parking spots under the hotel and it is very hard to get in and out of. Room smelled musty, you can hear other people in their bathrooms...i think. Small bugs in the carpets and in the beds, mosqitos came out of no where. The sliding door was broken and made a horrible screeching noise. Breakfast was all good except the milk tasted sour and there was a big dead bug in the corner of the dinning area. One good thing is in the lobby occasinaly a nice old man comes to play some old songs on an old piano. The elevator haha that just made me feel like i was going back in time and made me feel fat because it is verry small and a bit scary. If you are going to stay here be prepared because you will not be impressed with anything. I lived in uruguay for two years and honestly there are better hotels. Uruguay overall is too expensive.

“The Elevator........”

Small, old, ants in the bed, dozens of mosquitoes, the smell of the kitchen through the bathroom in the bedroom, the 28 year old elevator with a broken brake, bearings or what ever....
If you enjoy a normal night of sleep STAY AWAY from this hotel. The hotel says it has three stars, I wouldn't give it more then one. There are better hotels in MDV against this rate!!!!!

“Relaxing place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2011

We really enjoyed our time at The Europa. The dining room was a top feature for us and the relaxing atmosphere in the foyer was helpful to calming exhaisted travellers. The internet access was free for 15 minutes and there was an elderly gentleman who played the foyer's piano for hours on end. When we were there we were impressed with his talent and also the atmosphere he created. We found the rooms tiny but clean in every way. We would return to this hotel. Julie 55 Brisbane

“Good Hotel Close to Main Street”

My friend and I stayed at this hotel and found it value for money. The reception and front door staff weere very friendly and welcoming to non spanish speakers. The rooms were a little small but were quite satisfactory for a short stay. The hotel is so close to the main street and most of the attractions in Montevideo.

Room Tip: There are rooms that face the street and others an internal courtyard. Probably the latter are quie...
