The company that brought me to Montevideo offered me 3 different hotels to stay. I selected this one trusting the reputation (Balmoral). Now I am really sorry I picked it. The hotel staff is not very kind or helpful. They always talk with an attitude. The hotel breakfast is very poor in quality, diversity and presentation. I left to the country side for a couple of days and left a bag in storage (with a plastic lock). When I returned, and got my bag back I noticed somebody opened it by forcing and ruining the zipper. Nothing was missing but that isno excuse. The staff reacted poorly and did not want to become responsible for the damage to my bag. In addition, they charge a high and arbitrary exchange rate of dollars vs pesos, much higher than the official one. Overall, I regret I selected this hotel.
