Echoing everything negative everyone else said, I'd rather sleep on a park bench and take my chances on the streets of Montevideo than stay there again. 2 people we were traveling with in a separate room were covered head to toe in bug bites and rashes. You can have conversations in the bathroom with your neighbors as half the wall is a vent right next to the toilet...you can hear EVERYTHING. Just nasty. I feel dirty again just thinking about it. Avoid this place at all costs.

Like comment before, yes, this is a horrible place. I was on room 1004, 10th floor, my god, what a surprise. That room is only 1 star and closing to loose...
Avoid this hotel. I was there last week and it was the worse expirence.

A horrible place - dirty, noisy, and unbelievably run-down.* The carpets (I use the term loosely: ill-fitting felt that tripped me up several times) were dirty even before we moved in. Our rooms weren't serviced once in our three-day stay - nothing cleaned, no towels replaced and toilet paper bins left in situ. On day two, we asked for our carpets to be cleaned and were promised they would be the next day. When we pointed out on day four that this hadn't happened, we were told that unless room keys were left at reception, rooms would not be serviced.
The price for this hell-hole? US$75 per night. It's a cynical operation. God knows how it achieved three stars.
The only good points: a satisfactory breakfast, and nice young men on the desk, who I hope will soon move on to work at far better hotels.
