I was very badly treated by the reception staff in the morning. Hotel clean, good facilities, but with bad employees. Not recommend. Don´t go there !

We stayed three nights at the Crystal Palace Hotel in a standard room for 60 us dollars/night. It is located at 25 de Julio wich is a central street with many shops and diners, but not at the best end of the street (it's nicer closer to Ciudad Viejo)
The room was ok with a big bathroom and a small balcony facing the back of some other buildings. Breakfast was ok with quite many things to choose from. There is free internet acess both in the lobby and in rooms.
I am very sensitive to odours and that was the big drawback of the hotel since it smelled bad of exhaust fumes both in the lobby, elevator and breakfast area, due to the big street outside.
The service was both really good and really bad depending on who worked in the reception.
They forgot to clean our room one day and didn't change towels or beddings.
The hotel is not a four star hotel but an ok deal for the price.

they made every arrangement to keep me satisfied.

The Crystal Palace was pretty good. The staff was fairly helpful, and the breakfast was good for being included. For being a four-star hotel, it was a little lacking, though.

The hotel room was spacious, as was the bathroom. But the room itself was a little run down. There were quite a few marks on the walls. There was a fairly sizable roach in the room, but that could have happened anywhere.

The hotel did not have our reservations listed for the correct dates, which lead to a bit of a challenge checking in. But they found their error and everything worked out fine in the end.

The hotel is right in the heart of downtown, so there are plenty of restaurants and sights to see. The location was perfect for the two nights we stayed in the hotel.

They had free internet on a computer in the lobby which was very helpful for keeping in touch.

I would recommend the hotel, but bear in mind the difference in four-star standards.
