Stayed three nights with friend. Location is close to all major attractions and breakfast buffet (if you are one of the first to get there) is pretty acceptable.
I have to say that the bell boy who welcomes you and takes you to your room and the lady who is in charge of the breakfast area are very nice, as well as the maid who was assigned to the sixth floor. Nice, yes....able to clean...NO!!!
Your room key activates all electricity in your room. What was never disclosed was that what seemed to be central a/c does not function at all, even though you are able to adjust the temperature and turn it on and off??? After a very hot and humid night with no a/c, I noticed that there was a room a/c but no way to turn it on. The following morning, I contacted the front desk and the bell boy handed me a remote control for the unit!!
The room seemed clean, but the bathroom looked like a whole bunch of ladies with very long hair had a party, since there were hairs everywhere. It seemed like the maid started to clean but never quite finished since I found a dirty towel full of hairs and detergent by the toilet. Spoke to the maid and reported it. The towel was picked up, but the hairs continued. We had a room with two twin beds. My friend and I started itching on the last day of our stay. Guess what...Yes...bed bug bites all over and now both being treated by a dermatologist. Not a good experience!!!
Love Montevideo and have been visiting for years, but will never stay here again.
Oh....bring your own soap and shampoo since what is provided by the hotel is minute and of very low quality. There is no ice anywhere and the small refrigerator in the room only has one half of a small ice cube tray.
Room Tip: Standard double room is small but OK.
