If you are looking for a standardised, clean hotel room in Montevideo, Ibis is your place. For 65 US we stayed for one night. The hotel is not very central and the area is not safe at night, so make sure you ask the reception to call a registered taxi for you. The rooms are exactly like in every Ibis worldwide, so expect nothing fancy. Our room was located at the second floor with a view on the beach and sea. Very quiet during the night and well climatized. Bed very comfortable. The staff was pretty slow during the check-out and not very friendly.
The price did not include breakfast, which we had to book extra for another 7 us dollar per person. The breakfast buffet did not have the same quality and variety which we were used from other Ibis Hotels. The restaurant is overpriced and the meals underaverage, so try to eat in the port area of the old city center. Overall, a clean basic hotel for a fair price. You get what you pay for.
