Stayed here for 1 night each redeeming hotel points to bookend a trip to Uruguay. Excellent location. Area is busy on weekdays but very quiet on weekends. One block from Plaza Independencia, Theater Solis, and Presedential offices and great shopping/restaurants. Very close to Mercado del Puerto and the Ciudad Vieja as well. We arrived and left on the weekend and parking was easy and convenient. Front desk staff and security staff were superb English speakers and more than willing to help with any needs. Car parked securely underground for $6/night. Rooms are clean and spacious. Good selection of TV channels. I would return to this hotel again.

The hotel is OK in general terms; it is clean and very well located. Breakfast is not very generous, but it is correct, sometimes extremely crowded. Staff is not very courteous, the keep distant and do not care at all. We arrived at 11.00 h from an intercontinental flight, but we were told that check in time was at 15 h and no rooms were available. Locals keep arriving after us and getting rooms, so around 16 h, after making some noise, I got the room 710, very small (compared to the rest), in an interior corner, on the back of elevators. The room was ok but extremely hot (however, it was cold outside) because of the lack of circulation of air. The noise of the elevators was continuous. By the way, lifts need some maintenance. Twice, when I was arriving to the 7th floor, the lift decided not to open and went down automatically to the -1.

The gym is extremely outdated, with no TV, and being close to meeting rooms, you listened to presentations you are not interested in.
The price is correct but services are not good at all.

all the services worked properly. The front desk was very efficient and all personnel highly cooperative. The two things they must improve are the "exercise room", never call it gym and the lightining at the main lobby, that looks sad and weak.
The relationship price/ services is very acceptable

This hotel is a good choice if you want to be near El Centro, Ciudad Vieja and the Casino. I found the renovated room to be quite nice and spacious (see my photos below). A stocked mini bar was convenient and the prices were not excessive. The price of the room was also reasonable and quite a bargain when compared to a competitive property located just 1-1/2 block away.

This hotel sits 1 block from a Casino, 1-1/2 block from a main plaza that has a large section of the old gate that dates back to when the city was walled. This portal leads directly into the Ciudad Vieja which is a great place to shop, look at antiques or eat.

The breakfast, which was included with the room, was above average for a Latin American property. The room had a cable high speed internet and the television was connected to a satellite/cable box. It was a bit awkward as you needed to turn on the TV with one remote and then change the channels with a second remote.

The only negative was that when I tried calling the front desk and operator at 06:30 in order to get a taxi scheduled for 07:00, the phone just rang and rang and was never answered. My guess is that due to the checkout activity, they just ignored the phone. Not an acceptable practice.

All in all I was pleased with my stay and plan on returning for my next business trip.
