The rooms are a bit noisy and can get cold soon so you need to put on the air conditioning for heating all night. The breakfast is normal but perfect. Second night I asked for an extra blanket but the girl behind the reception said they didn't have any extra.The next night a very nice guy was siting there and took care of it right away. One day there was no hot water for the shower (all other 5 days it was ok).

The only reason I gave , sleep quality two stars is because I took a sleeping pill! The staff is friendly, but my room , and I assume all the rooms are awful. The hallways are no better.

Don't expect too much. The free breakfast is a plus but the cleanliness/service standard leaves more to ask for.

Use the hotel if you intend to be out most of the time - Montevideo is a very good capital city although dwarfed by Buenos Aires or Rio or some other major city a short plane ride away. A slightly dodgy-ish area should put you off from walking around this charming city with the most peculiar architecture and generally friendly people .

People usually don't speak english and why should they ?

prepare your walking shoes .. you will need them .

Pluses: clean, well located, free internet in the lobby (WiFi + 2 computers),nice staff, good breakfast, TV + telephone in rooms

Minus: a bit old, not well insulated (got quite cold in the austral winter before I learned to use the AC/Heater)
