“Excellent value....a beautiful place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2010

I along with a group of co-workers stayed at Hosteria Rumichaca for three nights in November while on a volunteer trip to Peru.

The house is beautiful and the staff very attentive. We were lucky enough to have the entire place to ourselves and enjoyed being able to unwind in the living room at the end of some very long days!

Breakfast was made to order in the large bright kitchen and was wonderful. The grounds at the lodge are beautiful and ver relaxing!

The only slight issue with the lodge is the location. I loved the quiet location however cab drivers seemed to have a hard time finding it as it is well off a main road!

“We felt like family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2010

Jose and Irene treat you like familly. Jose took care of us from the time we booked our trip to the early morning goodbyes as we left. We were in close contact with Jose as he scheduled our tours. He answered all our questions promptlly and I could not have asked for a more detailed itinerary.
The hosteria is in the heart of the Sacred Valley and an excellent place to stay as a jumping off point to see the area. Jose set us up with our tour guide Ronnie, who spoke perfect english and was interesting and informative. He was eager to help us see all the sights we wanted and easliy changed plans when we wanted to do other things.
The food was outstanding. Irene should give cooking classes. We did not go hungry at all. All of our food, and drink (including soda, beer, wine, Piscos) were included in the cost of our stay. The children enjoyed playing with the dogs, birds, and turtle. On our last night Jose fired up the pizza oven and he and Irene made a farewell meal of pizza, calzones and pork loin.
The attention to detail was that of a five star hotel. I will recommend this hosteria to all of our friends and family who visit the Sacred Valley. I know they will be in good hands with Jose, Irene and their staff.

“The best place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2010

There are not enough words to express how wonderful this gem in the valley is. Irene and Jose along with their attentive & caring staff made our experience in the Sacred Valley personal. In the throngs of tourists, you will appreciate this location for its beauty and peacefulness.
An itinerary was suggested to us for the 5 days we spent with them and we loved it. There were opportunities to spend time and explore on our own as well as comfortably travel with our driver to sites at our leisure. We started each day with warm greetings and delicious food and ended each day with comforting food, drinks and lively conversation.
I would suggest having your dinners here as the food is remarkable.

I highly recommend staying here if you don't want to feel overwhelmed by tourist as you would in Cuzco and crave a personal touch to your experience in the Sacred Valley. We ended our visit in Cuzco and all we could talk about is how much we missed the beauty and peace Jose and Irene have created at their place.

“Great stay in the Sacred Valley”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2010

A friend recommended the Hosteria Rumichaca for my visit to Cusco and the Scared Valley. I contacted Jose and Irene via e-mail and quickly had arranged a reservation for my stay. Jose recommended an itinerary for my 4 days which included Cuzco, Machu Picchu, Pisac, Chinchero and Moray. Jose arranged a driver and guides for each day of my visit. Additionally, transportation to and from the airport was provided.

The Hosteria has a house in Cuzco that allowed me to take a short rest after my overnight flight and before seeing the sites of the City.

All of my guides spoke very good English and were knowledgeable of the history and local historical sites. The guides were flexible and allowed me to adjust the itinerary for the day.

The accommodations at the Hosteria Rumichaca were of top quality. The room and bed was comfortable which also included a bathroom with a shower. There was a very nice living room with a fireplace and a dining room where the meals were served. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were included in the quoted price.

The meals were quite good and included some local dishes, but were not overly exotic.

Jose and Irene were very friendly and made sure that my trip was going well. Additionally the staff was friendly and attentive.

A tip to remember this is more of a bed and breakfast than a full service hotel. It is an intimate atmosphere where you will get to know the other guests.

Overall I can highly recommend the Hosteria Rumicha. If you want to have the benefit of guides and pre-arranged transportation without having to participate in a large tour group this is the perfect option.

“Your home away from home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 March 2010

We stayed 3 nights at Rumichaca. Our room was nice with lots of warm blankets. We had breakfast and dinner there all three days. The food was wonderful. They also arranged for us to have a driver and a guide while we were there, and helped us plan our days. Their home and gardens are beautiful and peaceful.
