“This is the place to stay in the Sacred Valley”

What a gorgeous hotel. Facilities ate great, service is great. The restaurant is fantastic. I got sick here and the staff were amazing. Staff went to village and got medicine and delivered personally to me. The held our bag when we went to Machu Picchu and sent baggage to Cusco to our hotel there. They could not have been more accommodating. They treated us so well, I can never forget everything they did for us. Gorgeous hotel and grounds and fabulous staff.

“A Magical Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2012

This is a great location if you really want to base out of a location and explore the Sacred Valley. People usually make a B-line from Cusco to Machu Picchu and miss out on many of the very interesting things to do in the valley itself.

The quality and ambiance of this Sheraton property is over the top. The complex reminds me of the Westin Riverfront in Beavercreek CO. The staff is friendly, attentive and always willing to do what they can to please you. This is a beautiful facility and location.
Room Tip: No need, there are no bad rooms.

“A real treat!”

This place is simply the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Total relaxation after the Machu Picchu trek. The spa was great - we did the water circuit which was great for a couple of hours. All the waiters were the most polite and all knew your name at each meal, introducing themselves first. Food is amazing and they serve almost anything you would want. Rooms were huge, the bed was incredibly comfortable, a great wet room with separate toilet, large plasma tv, surround sound, great views of the mountains and an amazing inside outside swimming pool.

The local town is a world away - pretty poor market town but an interesting short stroll if you want to get out, but you probably won't. Don't stay less than 2 nights, otherwise you'll kick yourself when you need to leave.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor will have french windows onto a small terrace, whilst those on upper floor...

“Christmas 2011 at Urubamba”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

All other reviews are 100% accurate - this is by far one of the nicest Luxury Collection resorts that I have stayed in. One feels like they are in a rustic Aspen chalet upon entrance with beautiful mountain views from most guest rooms. Large guest rooms with walk in closets state of the art bathrooms, wood floors, large flat panel TV, stereos - all the bells and whistles!
Spa & pool area is breathtaking too, as is the dining room with huge vaulted wood-beamed ceilings and fireplaces. One negative (I mean really) the dining room needs to consider lowering prices for guests and consider a gourmet dining room for the current menu. A little pricey for most families. Also - need dining room to stay open all day - too limited now and we needed to eat lunches in the bar upon afternoon arrival.

With all of that said - if you want to stay a few days in the Sacred Valley - I would avoid the Orient Express and enjoy this resort. On the other hand - not too much to do in this little town (within walking distance). 3 Keros Restaurant (2 walking blocks away) was excellent and a fraction of the cost as the resort;s dining options.

Room Tip: All rooms are wonderful!

The previous reviews say it all. My wife and I, together with our two grandchildren, stayed at Tambo del Inca for 3 nights in late December and were most happy in every way. It's truly spectacular inside and out. Very special. GO!
