While many sites say this hotel is in Urubamba, it is actually in Yanahuara (I think also spelled Ganahuara). Make sure you have this name with you in case you have to get a taxi. The Yanahuara turn off the highway is halfway between Urubamba and Ollantaytambo. Another hassle with locating this hotel is that there are no signs for the hotel, and it recently changed names, so the locals and taxi drivers weren't aware of the Terra Andina name. When heading down the highway from either Urubamba or Ollantaytambo, there is a sign for the Casa Andina hotel, so turn there. Casa Andina is about 800m up a gravel road, and Terra Andina is about another 1km further. If catching a taxi to get to the hotel, make sure its a car and not a moto-taxi, as the moto-taxi will just drop you off on the highway as it cannot make it up the hill. With that out of the way, the hotel is beautiful well worth this inconvenience. If you have the time, I would recommend making sure you have a full day to enjoy its surroundings. They greeted us with a choice of free welcome cocktail or lemonade. Dinner menu is identical to the one at their hotel in Cusco. Free breakfast buffet was great. The guy that served me in the morning, was also the server for dinner the night before. He liked to chat, but didn't speak much English, so it was a perfect opportunity to practice my Spanish. The rooms are like villas and are very roomy, with large bathrooms and a patio and complimentary wifi. I saw 5 species of hummingbird within 5 minutes in the morning on the walk to breakfast, make sure you have a fast camera with a good zoom lens. Very friendly staff, both at check in and in the restaurant. They arranged a car to take us to the Ollantaytambo train station in the morning, I think it cost around 20 soles. I wish I spent another day here, or checked in earlier to enjoy it while the sun was up. If you are prepared with the information to find the hotel, you will be glad you stayed here.
