Worst staff with terrible attitude, rude behavior and gestapo-like rules. The couple were traveling with were flying out in the evening. We paid the $320 for the room because we had to get up early the next morning and be at airport at 5:30 a.m. They wouldn't allow them to come to our room and visit before their plane left. The rule was leave your passport at the desk and you may visit only one hour. The front desk was across from the elevator doors and they watched ever single person who went in. If you were on your floor people stopped you and wanted to know your room number. They totally believed everyone was out to get them. Not at all the usual treatment you receive in hotels that expensive. Their was a large open book on a pedistal as you came into the hotel asking for comments about the hotel. We wrote very unfriendly staff which was an understatement to say the least. Later when we went by we noticed they had scratched out "un" and put a heart there. This is not a communist country, but it sure felt like it. The room stunk like sewer gas. Another room on that floor had the door open and fans trying to air out the room. When we mentioned it to them, they gave us a blank stare like WE were crazy ones and told us they didn't know what we talking about. I would have taken a chance and spent 1/3 the money and stayed outside the airport if I EVER went back again. I agree with ChicagoGuide 100%.

Lima, Peru is a city of 10+million, with essentially no public transportation system. Getting to and from the busy airport (LIM) either late in the day or early in the morning to meet a plane schedule can be very difficult, with unpredictible traffic congestion. Upscale hotels are located far from the airport and across town. We stayed at this hotel, located immediately adjacent to the LIM airport terminal upon late night arrival and before early morning departure. This hotel serves this purpose quite well. It is clean, and surprisingly quite for an airport location. Food service is available at the hotel restaurant or one has many food selections ranging from fast food (MacDonalds) to local cuisine, and international fool at LIM terminal, connected by skywalk to the hotel. The hotel is literally across the airport terminal drive or by skywalk, an easy walk, even with luggage.

Our family stayed one night in late December between flights into and from Lima, thinking that this was the wisest choice so that we could save transportation time and expense and be right at the airport for our early morning departure. Wrong! From the moment we checked in, we felt as if we were visiting a (minimum-security) prison. No staff smiles or offers of assistance. Stiff guards at the elevators. Worst was the filthy, sticky carpeting in the rooms and the accumulated dirt (no vacuums in Lima?) around the baseboards. Dinner in the restaurant was okay/we stayed as long as reasonable so that we could lessen the time in our rooms.

At the end of our trip, we were scheduled to stay one more time at the hotel the evening before our early morning departure for the US. We had a 4:30 am check-in time. However, we just couldn't face that hotel again. Instead, we forfeited the prepayment and booked into a downtown hotel, knowing we would have to leave at 4 am in order to arrive at the airport in time. An easy call! We just would not agree to endure the Costa del Sol Ramada even one more time!

LAN airlines had some problems and we had to stay an extra day in Lima. This hotel is clean and safe and directly across the street that runs in front of the terminal, convenient. The staff is very pleasant the wifi works and the rooms are clean. The rooms are very plain and the rates are high but it is worth while not to have to mess with a cab.
