My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Runcu. The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood, only about a 3 minute walk from the ocean. The rooms were comfortable, the staff was great and the breakfast was amazing! The front desk provides you a selection of breakfast sides to choose from for the next morning and is ready upon your arrival (each guest has a personalized name card awaiting them). They cook eggs to order and the bread basket is fresh and hot. Our waitress was so sweet and made sure we were taken care of at all times. Everyone spoke very good English and the entire stay was a great value for the money spent! We would highly recommend!!

MY TRAVEL STYLE: If possible, I try to stay away from business hotels and strongly prefer resorts that resemble the Four Seasons, Aman, and Oberoi but try to find similar properties at lower cost. I seek out the “wow” experiences.
This hotel was difficult for me to rate as I typically stay in the best hotels. This was supposed to be for a day rate only but we ended up having to spend the night.

LOCATION: Good, in a nice part of town and about a 15 minute walk to tourist areas. Taxis are about a $1.50USD to most parts of town if don’t want to walk.

BEST WAY TO GET THERE: The hotel airport pickup was USD$2 more than just hiring a taxi from the airport… definitely recommend this service. About 30-60 minutes from the airport depending on traffic.

TYPE OF ROOM: 

Standard.

BED/SHEETS/PILLOW: Bed was of good comfort and linens were of OK quality.

LIGHTING: Great lighting in bedroom and bathroom

BATHROOM/SHOWER: Not luxurious but very clean and hot water. Water pressure was good.

CLEANLINESS: Entire hotel was very clean.

COMMON AREA: Breakfast area was nice. Not much of a place to hang out besides the room.

QUIET/MORNING LIGHT: On a busy street so could hear cars going by. Quiet enough but not the same as the Westin that had newer soundproof windows (at triple the cost as this hotel). All morning light could be blocked with curtains.

FOOD: Never ate here.

TV/INTERNET: Satellite TV had many channels. TV screen was of good size for the room. Internet was free and at no cost. Good speed compared to other hotels in Peru.

SERVICE: Outstanding! Some of the best service we have had in a long time. Staff is very helpful and friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are happy

SUMMARY: What was supposed to be a day use of the hotel (shower and bag storage) turned into a place we stayed the night. For the price this place is really amazing, comfortable, and has great staff.

Runcu is located in a very nice part of Miraflores, close to superb restaurants and the beaches. Taxis are inexpensive and you can be in town for less than $10. We walked around at night and felt very safe.

The rooms are small but well kept, we had rooms with bright colors and fun art of Frida Khalo. Breakfast was included, and it was quite good.

We found the staff helpful and friendly.

When we first arrived at the hotel we did not know what to expect but everything was better than we could have imagined. First the staff was extremely friendly, the room was small but the bathroom had a lovely tiled shower that was a good size. The water was hot but tended to fluxate a little when used. The room was very clean as well as the rest of the hotel. We could see a view of the ocean from our room but we had to close the windows do to construction noise throughout the night.

The best part came when we realized we were leaving before breakfast was served. The staff instead packed us a complimentary lunch for our travels.

There was also complimentary tea and coffee in the lobby.

The hotel was located within walking distance of several restaurants and my husband and I felt very safe walking at night.

It exceeded any of our expectations and we would stay here again.
