My family is from Peru, I have been there several times before but never stayed in a hotel. I was accompanied by 2 friends and my boyfriend. Shame on me for staying in this hotel, they were unprofessional from the very beginning. When I first reserved my room over the phone they told me they would pick us up from the airport for free if we stayed longer than four days. They e-mailed me this information and confirmed it. I called the day before our flight to make sure they knew the time and flight number, but they had no idea what I was talking about and they were charging us double the amount they had told us. I made my own arrangements to get picked up, we finally get to the hotel and I showed the the e-mail and they told us they would drive us to the airport for free when we left. We get on the elevator and we get stuck..ahhhhhhhhh.. still gave it a try. The hotel has a safe in each room , supposedely there is only one key to each safe. Well we were missing $100 dollars one night and han $80 dollars another. Than my friends in the other room were missing another $100 dollars. When we confronted the manager he did nothing to accomadate us and even insinuated that my family that came to visit me in my hotel room might have stolen our money. They offered us vouchers for their restaurant, lol, NO THANK YOU!!!The breakfast was horrible, they have no variety and are very slow. We finally left and went to Las Americas where it was very clean nice and the faculty was very professional and attentive.

We stayed at the Antara for a total of four nights in March 2005. The location in Miraflores is great, but we saw many better choices on the surrounding streets. The Antara is an older, small hotel, six floors with about 35 rooms total. The walls are stucco coated and interesting artifacts are scattered throughout the hallways. There is no lobby to speak of as it has been consumed by a small restaurant. No bar, just a few stray couches. The rooms are spacious, but very dated. The carpets are drab and worn. Sad, because underneath the rugs there appears to be white terazzo! The bathrooms include a toilet and an air jet tub that takes up most of the space. Sinks (2) are in a separate area with closet and safe. No AC, but a noisy ventilation system and windows that open to look out at walls. The staff are very helpful, but breakfast (included) was sad and mostly inedible. It would have to be VERY affordable for us to ever stay at the Antara again.
