Hotel Regency in Lima is NOT an REALLY VERY BAD hotel but it needs VERY serious improvements.. SO WATCH OUT!!!

Regency advertises access to INTERNET - but it provides NO INTERNET!
It advertises spacious rooms, but when you purchase a "standard" room, you do NOT get a spacious room at all..
It advertises with photos of their SUITE (room 101) but when purchasing their "standard" room, you get ANYTHING BUT a suite or a spacious room, rather a tiny, badly furnished mini-room. Quite SHABBY!!!
So you feel that they or your travel agent have cheated on you and THEY HAVE..
Their excuse will be: Hotel did NOT authorize the use of that "samle room foto", so it is all YOUR fault, if you purchased that "standard" room, expecting a spacious and well furnished room, as advertised.. Please note: Travel agent OFFERED YOU NO alternative..
Hotel will request you to pay EXTRA in CASH for the activation of the Air Condition! The Air Condition is deactivated or NOT there at all..
Hotel will serve you an unspeakable "continental" breakfast, consisting of a thimble filled with COLD black coffee plus a cup of lukewarm (hopefully pre-cooked) water, plus a little basket with two tasteless buns and NO plate. IF you order extras (costs extra in cash) they are likely to forget to bring the fork with the knife..
Regency has NO lift, so IF you live not on the first floor, you will only have access to your room via some servants staircase..
Hotel also has some exotic "house rules", which prohibit you to have guests or entertain guests in your room, request you to accept reduculous exchange rates for your US Dollars, and they charge you extra 10 percent if you wish to use your credit card, again using some phantasy rates for exchange of the US Dollar amounts of their invoice/s into their Soles.. SO...!!!

YES! There are SOME hotels that do it worse, but NOT MANY..
AND, by all means, try it for yourself, but LOOKOUT!!!
