The hotel is near the Plaza de Armas, but it's in a quiet side street, so it's actually a very quiet hotel, but within easy walking distance of the main square!
The front desk staff varied from wonderful to downright standoff'ish depending on who was working on any given day. For the most part they were great, but there's a couple of them who really shouldn't be working in the hospitality industry at all. The hotel bar was large and comfortable and had a good barman.
The rooms are clean and quite large. Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were brilliant (a big bath and a good shower)! A decent mini-bar (and the prices weren't too excessive). The tv was a decent size and had a good range of available channels (and more than a few in English).
I enjoyed my stay at the Maury Hotel and would stay here again the next time I'm in Lima. It's in a convenient location for sightseeing, it's quiet and the rooms are great! Only downside is the "internet computer" in the lobby never works, so don't rely on it and just go elsewhere.
