Stayed for the last night of our tour; agree with other reviews about faded grandeur etc, the bed was comfortable (always the most important thing for me!), and the facilities in the room good. However, the room overlooked the busy road and was very noisy, and although breakfast was supposed to be from 6 to 10 am, when we came down at 6 in order to leave for the airport at 6.30am, there was no-one in sight, no hot water, some scrambled eggs which were lukewarm, so have no idea how long they had been there, and rolls sitting there as if they had been there all night. One of the party looked in the kitchen to find someone, and had to go down two flights of stairs to find a sleepy young man waiting while a great vat of water heated up, which was going to take ages. The plates of fruit eventually appeared from where they had been sitting in the next room all night, uncovered and not refrigerated. So I'm afraid we weren't very impressed - hopefully it doesn't happen every day!

Great location in Downtown Lima, close to attractions, transport and a supermarket. You can imagine this hotel being grand and ornate about 60 years ago, it now looks a bit tired and old and it's granduer has faded - but I still kinda liked it. Staff were helpful - the bar was the one where the Pisco Sour was invented, breakfast was in the old ballroom and was the standard South American, bread, coffee, tea, juice and eggs. All in all not bad.

I stayed here as part of a tour,the staff were friendly and very helpful. Its an old hotel and probably was a top place in its day....but it is clean and comfy and close to the old historical part of Lima. Breakfast was plentiful

Clean rooms, helpful and pleasant staff and in a good location for the main square. The only downside was the noise from the traffic outside.
