First let be state that we were picked up, late, at the Lima Airport, were met by the driver and driven approximately 20 minutes to the "Hostel". That's how the locals I talked to at the airport refered to this place. We were up early the next morning and driven back the the airport for the flight to Cusco. This really didn't give me enought time to test the amenities of the place. That being said: I've read some of the glowing reports from other travlers and feel that they must have stayed at another location. One of the reviews talked about the light traffic to the airport the next morning. NOTHING could be further from the truth. A congested city with teaming, disorganized dangerous traffic. I don't think I've ever had a ride like that. We found the location to be a basic accommodation, nothing more. It was secure behind a wall and gate which counts positive in a large way. The bed was hard and bed covers thin, although they did appear clean. We didn't get bit by Bed Bugs that were mentioned in another report, although it doesn't surprise me someone was. The room had cable TV which worked fine but the room was dimly lit. The bathroom was fully tiled and the shower was hot for the first quick shower in the morning. Unfortunatly, the 2nd person had a natural wake up as the water was cold. No wash cloths were provided, which seemed to be the custom at most places in Peru so be sure to bring your own. The "Breakfast" was a basic roll with a slice of cheese and ham. Couldn't wait to get back to the airport for nourishment. For a quick sleep between flights, no problem. Additional time spent here? I just can't imagine it!
As I said, maybe others who rated this place with 5 stars were staying somewhere else?
