We found this hotel in the Lonely Planet Peru guide. The cab driver didn't even think we should stay there. The manager was very nice and the first room he showed us was extremely small and the window did not open. It smelled of mildew and mold. We requested another room and were considering finding another hotel even though it was midnight and we were exhausted. The second room had windows that opened facing Belen street. The room smelled better and we were too tired to argue. The room only cost $20.00 and so we decided to tough it out. Belen street was extremely noisy on the Sunday night we were there. On Monday morning when we woke up it turned out to be a great choice due to the location. It was close to many of the beautiful historic buildings and churches. It is also close to many tour companies so we booked through Victor Travel Service across the street. Victor did a great job. The manager of the hotel helped us with places to go and helped with phone calls. This is one of the worst places I have ever stayed at, but it was only $20.00 for 2 people. You get what you pay for.
