“Well priced business hotel in great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

The best part about Hotel Roosevelt is the location for business travelers. It is located in mixed residential/upscale commercial neighborhood close to San Isidro and Miraflores. There are many restaurants and coffee shops close by. In fact, there are several Starbucks, a shopping mall and a large grocery store within walking distance. The Roosevelt Park is next door and the surrounding neighborhood contains many parks and good walking.

The rooms at the hotel are decent. I stayed in a single room that faced the street. The room was quiet and large enough with a flat screen TV. The bathroom was standard and slightly outdated. There was a thick blanket available for cold Lima nights and a minibar with water and snacks.

The service at the hotel and mixed for me. I had a difficult time communicating with the hotel to complete the reservation and a pick-up from the airport. The van from the hotel was overpriced from the airport versus a normal taxi although the driver was nice and professional. All written communication before my arrival was in Spanish, however the staff in the hotel during my stay spoke English. My reservation was honored as registered via email and the hotel staff was very friendly during my stay.

The restaurant is delicious! Breakfast has a huge variety of gourmet food, fruits, juices, omelets, quiche, pastries.... I could go on. I loved breakfast. I also ate dinner at the hotel a few times. The good was very good, especially the seafood soup and Pisco sour, and I feel that the prices were very fair. The restaurant staff gave good service and were friendly.

The internet is good in the hotel. There is wireless in the restaurant and lobby and wired in the rooms. The business center has free printing and computers for use.

Stayed here a few years ago and had a good time. Great restaurant in the hotel and walking distance to others and shops.

“Nice and comfortable hotel in quiet part of San Isidro”

I have stayed at this hotel now twice for business and both times my experience was very good. My single room was comfortable, if somewhat on the small side, but suited my needs just fine since I was only there in the evenings. The hotel arranged pick-up from the airport and hung out even though my flight was more than 2 hours late. In addition, when my luggage didn't arrive, they provided me with a free toothbrush, etc. The breakfast is good and has a nice variety and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The only downside would be that wireless is only available in the lobby and restaurant but the LAN cable internet is free in the rooms. Overall, I would definitely return to this hotel.

“Great location, tidy rooms, exceptional service.”

Have stayed in many hotels in Lima, and this one by far wins the day. You are steps from beautiful parks, residential neighborhoods, and great shopping and restaurants. The restaurant/bar in the hotel serves food until 1am and, unlike most hotel restaurants, the food is actually really good and reasonably priced. But what really stands out here is the service. From the front desk staff to the doorman to the breakfast servers to the bartenders, everyone here treated us exceptionally. Our check-in/check-out/re-check in plans for the week fluctuated almost daily but the front desk staff always seemed to be cheerfully one step ahead of us with a smile and "don't worry" being their go-to answer. Highly recommended!

“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2009

Stayed at this hotel in Dec 2007 for about 5 days with a group of students as part of a school course to learn about the culture and economy of Peru. We had 2 people to a room and it was spacious enough for two strangers to not bump into each other alot. It's not overly fancy but I mean we're students and how much do u really need but a clean bed and warm water :) They cater well to business travellers, we kind of fell in that category. There was a exercise room-think that was closed for renovations but lovely parks outside for running. Some of us-the not so lazy ones went running each morning. Internet addicts like myself stuck in the business center on the 10th floor checking in with friends and family back home! The breakfast is good enough, great variety and there is alsoa restuarant. Never ate downstairs in the restuarant but order in my lastnight and the food was great. I think i'll post a picture of that. Best meal i had during the whole week in Peru! The waiter and staff in general were very accomodating for the most part and spoke English. The bartender was great, he made me this fruity drink that was wonderful. We were able to exchange money right there at the hotel. It's close to supermarkets and taxi right outside the hotel. The neighbourhood is also great, it's not too busy there. In the morning you'll see children going off to school and people off to work during breakfast. Kidn of a upscale neighbourhood actually, diplomats and such live aroudn the corner. One afternoon i spotted a woman walkign her dog and it was clothed! Surely didn't expect that in Peru-so in other words upscale neighbourhood as i said above. Ok i'm going off, so yes if i were to visit Lima again i'd probably stay right at the Roosevelt just for the quite feel, cost and proximity. Oh for those concerned about safety, there is a safe and we locked stuff like passports up but you know how it is some of us left stuff around and nothing ever went missing. Oh and the room/bathroom is cleaned daily.
