We stayed at the Casa Andina San Antonio hotel our first night in Peru and then again after we returned from Cusco and Machu Picchu. It is a basic hotel...not a luxury hotel...but it provided everything we needed during our stay. The staff was exceptionally friendly and always eager to be helpful in any way. They offer a good breakfast and can direct you to local restaurants within a few blocks. The location is convenient. We walked over to the Larcomar shopping mall several times (maybe 6-8 blocks) to enjoy the restaurants and the views of the Pacific Ocean but there are good restaurants much closer. Although the rooms were on the small side the beds were great. The elevator was out of order but that didn't bother us since we were on the 2nd floor. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. They were happy to hold our luggage for us after we checked out when we had a very late flight back to the US. There didn't seem to be much for kids to do but that wasn't an issue with us.
