We were in Lima just for a night befor ecatching an early flight out to Juliaca. We just needed a place we would crash and get a good sleep in a good area. Area is fantastic, right on a main strip and close to the ocean and Larcomar shopping centre. Maybe it was just our room, however the noise coming in from outside was overwhelming at night, and on the other side of us was the lounge where the nightstaff was watching movies (not quietly) all night. Needless to say, there was no sleep, and no hot water. I've read the breakfwas was good, unfortunately we had to leave for our flight prior to it starting.

i must admit i was a bit disappointed at first with the kusillu's hostel.for one,i'd say that it doesn't look anything like the pictures on their website.i was expecting a brand new place but in fact,it looks a bit tired,especially the reception area. my biggest beef was with the rooms ( i stayed in a single & a double ) which are basically windowless so they have very little light and can also be quite stuffy.( they advertise a ' double with terrace ' but there's no such thing as a terrace,it's just an extra room on the side )
on the other end,there were many positives to the place , starting with its location , smack in the middle of miraflores with all the conveniences at your door step.the hostel is very clean,they even came and clean my room daily which i didn't expect ! ( jaime is the hardest working man i have ever seen ! ) , breakfast is included in the price - fresh coffee and rolls , you have full use of the kitchen if you so desire.the staff was super friendly and always willing to help though only ricardo speaks perfect english.
i would say that all in all,the place grew on me , the positives overrode the negatives, i would recommend it if you are not too fussy but looking for a clean , safe place to stay in lima that won't cost you an arm & a leg.
also , note that they are expending and building new rooms upstairs,hopefully with windows !!

I was looking for a good value, no-frills hostel at which to spend a week in Lima, and I found K'usillu's after an extensive search of the area on foot. The staff were very kind and went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. I looked forward to the communal breakfasts every morning at which an array of international travelers chatted and shared their adventures.

The location is excellent, also--one block from Parque Kennedy, with many amenities (laundry, groceries, ATMs, good restaurants) very nearby.

Highly recommended!

This is nice and a well run hostel in a good location in Lima (in Miraflores). It has everything you need as a backpacker! Starting with a pick up/drop off to the airport (you need this in Lima, as distances are long and it's difficult to negotiate prices with the local taxi drivers unless you know the price you should pay for the ride). The hostel is in a very central location in Miraflores, across the road from a big supermarket. The hostel has large rooms (we had hot water), a big common kitchen, breakfast included in the price and a very nice roof terrace. The owner Ricardo was very helpful, although the other staff didn't speak any English so you if needed help and you didn’t speak any Spanish you had to wait for Ricardo to arrive.
