We arrived at the hotel at 11pm, so it was great that they easily found our reservation. They gave us a coupon for 2 complimentary Pisco sours at the bar which was nice. The little bar downstairs seems to be popular with locals (fun, but not crowded at all.) It's also the location for breakfast which was basic -- coffee, juice, cold ham, cheese, bread, butter, and jam. Our room had a balcony on the street which would be a nice place to relax and read the paper. The location is the hotel's best point. On a fairly quiet street--- just 2 blocks from the ocean and the Larcomar shopping/dining complex. Go the other direction and you are in the Miraflores shopping district. Walk to Parque JFK and you can take a 3-hour tour bus trip of Miraflores and Central Lima which is really too far to walk. Don't miss the "Circuito Magico del Agua - Parque de la Reserva" (Magic Circuit of Water). It is a LOVELY park featuring spectacular fountains that are choreographed to classical music (and lights if you go at night). It costs less that 2 dollars to get in. Not in a touristed area, so we enjoyed being the only gringos there !!!
