“Comfortable and convenient”

Without hesitation, our six nights at Casona les Pleiades will be repeated when we return to Cusco.

This small hotel with probably eight modest but clean, comfortable and attractive rooms has a staff that is welcoming, solicitious and helpful. If you need assistance with tours, a guide or reliable information on how to make your own trip arrangements in and around Cusco they are excellent and patient resources.

Most rooms have an exceptional view of Cusco and are located on several floors around a center courtyard. Also, there is a common room with books, TV and internet. Wifi is also available and worked perfectly during our visit. In the dining room a very nice breaksfast is served every morning.

The Casona is conveniently located on a narrow, winding cobblestone pedestrian-only street like many in the San Blas neighborhood. Reaching Cusco's main Plaza requires a straight ten minute walk or for a less steep version you can take a kind of a circle route. Since San Blas rises above the city walking around is sometimes good aerobic exercise. However, Cusco and the San Blas neighborhood are such fascinating areas that a little huffing and puffing seems almost worthwhile.

If you are taking a taxi from the airport or the bus station to the hotel, be sure to have the taxi drop you off at Plaza San Blas in front of the church. From there it is a very short walk up some stairs to Tandapata and then left a few feet to the hotel. Tandapata is a long pedestrian street and taxis may drop you off at the wrong end of the street. Then you could be in for a long luggage dragging walk.

We split our trip into two three day stays with a trip to Machu Picchu in between and the hotel graciously kept our bags secured until we returned. There are many magnificent cultural and historic sites around Cusco but try not to miss the salt pans in Salinas and the Inca ampitheater site in Moray.

We couldn't have enjoyed our stay in Cusco more thanks in large part to the attention we received at this pleasant little hotel. We couldn't recommend it more highly. A superb value.

“Being well taken care of”

Excellent service. Very helpful in orienting the new comers and arranging tours. Even though some of the staff could speak minimal English, they were very helpful in trying to communicate with us, e.g. where to eat, where to exchange money, when to have breakfast, getting a taxi for us, etc.

We stayed at Room 4 on the 1st night, and moved to Room 5 the other three nights. Both rooms have balcony, but Room 5 gives a better view of Cusco.

It took about 10-15 min to walk uphill from the main square to the Casona. It could be difficult for someone who has difficulty in adjusting to the high altitude.

The breakfast was excellent - continental plus banana-pineapple salad, 2 eggs (fried or scrambled), coffee/coca tea, etc.

The only weakness is that the strength of their wi-fi was not strong enough so that we could not get online sometimes in the room. But there is a workstation in the common room, that we can use.

This is a must-stay in Cusco. I particularly appreciate their helpful staff. We had an enjoyable stay in Les Pleiades.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with balcony and view.

“good value and great service”

We booked a twin share room for total of 6 nights during our Sth America trip. The room was nothing special, just basic and it can get super cold at night. But the staff was very friendly and helpful. Good for the price. Go for it if you want something decent but not too much over the budget.

“Great people and location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We stayed here for four nights while visiting Cusco. The owners, and staff, are very, very friendly and helpful. The beds were the coziest we slept in during our visit to Peru! The location in San Blas was perfect as everything we wanted to explore was in easy walking distance. On Christmas a yummy and thoughtful treat was left for us.

“Don't expect luxury, but expect being pampered!”

I have to admit that I thought it will be another kind of place, maybe more fancy, but at the end, it really doesn't matter, because Phillipe and their staff are unbelievable nice, gentle and helpful. The helped with all the tours, spent a lot of time explaining about the drill and giving us tips of Cusco and Macchu Pichu. Clean beds, and hot water all the time, thing that is highly appreciated especially when you heard many stories about hostels in Cusco that have problems with that!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in an upper floor...being in the ground floor expose you to some noise coming from th...
