“Adequate, but not nearly worth the price”

We (family of 4) had prepaid 2 nights here as part of a package. They couldn't accommodate us aside from 2 rooms with 2 twin beds each, despite making reservations months in advance and traveling in the low season. That was a very expensive option. When our flight to Cusco was cancelled we immediately had a friend call the hotel to let them know. when we finally arrived the following day, we were told that the phone call didn't matter and we were no-shows, forfeiting the hundreds of $ we had paid. We stood at the reservations desk with a representative of the travel agency, and they tossed the blame back and forth, eventually deciding they should both blame the airline to absolve themselves. It would have been comical if we weren't travel weary and it didn't cost us so much.

Finally we explained that we were going to spend an extra two days in Cuzco, so if they could even credit us a portion of the missed night we'd be happy. They held their line, so we went to a hotel around the corner where we had a much bigger room at half the price, and the staff were friendly and helpful. So the bottom line is that this place is expensive, yet has a level of incompetence and stubbornness that we didn't encounter anywhere else in our travels through South America, even at places far cheaper. Yes, they have a good breakfast spread, and they've done their utmost to make the place look like an ordinary roadside business hotel in the US, but there are much better options around Cusco.

Room Tip: Bigger and less expensive rooms are at their competitors.

Excellent location just off the main square right next to all the action in Cusco.
Very well presented, freindly and efficient staff, comfortable rooms and a nice breakfast.

“This is what Whoever visits cusco needs; the rest Will as unnecessary .”

Anything that can be said about is already said; perfect location, staff and facilities. I must add that Cesar at the reception was far beyond helpful . I think he has a capability of reading through his clients eyes and understand their necessities... All the staff including the workmen repairing the hotel was truly kind and welcoming but Cesar is something else.... He is the most remarkable , kind and respectfull character we have met in Peru.

“Excellent location and value for the money.”

We stayed here for 4-nights on our 11-day Peruvian trip. Casa Andina was clean, the customer service was great, and the breakfast was very good. The location of Casa Andina Catedral is right off of Plaza de Armas, perfect for sightseeing and shopping. We used Casa Andina as a base for acclimating and in between hiking the Inca Trail and leaving for Lima.

“Close to everything, if you like church bells”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

Located right on the main square, Casa Andina Classic is central to everything - top restaurants, genuine alpaca shops, and the funky San Blas neighborhood is just a couple blocks up the hill. One issue - being on the square puts you in the shadow of the Cathedral, from which five minutes of bells peal at 4:40 AM daily. No wonder they start serving breakfast at 4 AM. At least it gets you up ready for the day. But bring earplugs anyway. The staff if friendly, though their English is limited. One wall of the first floor is an original Inca wall, and the rest of the hotel is a rambling 1500´s Colonial house. One complaint - all this charm comes with non-pressure balanced shower valves, so your shower occasionally includes the thrill of a blast of hot or cold water. Good things: wall-to-wall WiFi, accomodating staff, cool balconies, tons of nearly food and bars.

Dear Guest,
Thank you very much for the time you set aside to share your experience with us.
Certainly, Casa Andina Catedral is about as close as you can get to Cusco´s cathedral & beautiful Plaza de Armas without actually being on the busy square.
We should mention that showerheads have been changed to optimize the use of water while being environmentally responsible. We will definitely make sure they are correctly adjusted to guarantee suitable showers to our valuable guests.
We sincerely hope you give us another opportunity to offer you our special blend of Casa Andina and Peruvian hospitality in a not too distant future.
Cordially yours,
The team Casa Andina
