The San Isidro Labrador is a nice hotel. It has an open area in the middle with a lovely staircase, and rooms upstairs and downstairs. When we arrived they brought our bags upstairs - doesn't sound like a big deal, I know, but when you're slightly winded from the altitude it is much appreciated! They made us a fresh cup of coca tea right away which also helped. Rooms are rustic and basic but nice. Ours had 3 single beds. There is no TV, which isn't too big of a deal if you don't plan on staying inside, but as you are getting used to the altitude it might be nice as a distraction. Not a big deal, though. The space heater kept the room at a comfortable temperature, and you could always ask for extra blankets. Overall, a nice place. If you're looking for luxury, don't stay here, but for a comfortable and pleasant stay it is a good deal. Location is stellar, with the town square right down the street. And for those who are concerned, we were told that the hotel keeps oxygen at the front desk. Luckily we didn't need it!! Breakfast is simple, bread and jam and coca tea. We only woke early enough for breakfast the day we went to Machu Picchu anyway!
