“Excellent choice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I spent a lot of time deciding where to stay in Cusco and this was the perfect choice. We spent three nights there, stored our luggage for one night while we went to Machu Picchu. The courtyards and flowers are lovely. We had two superior rooms (rooms 307 and 308) with excellent views. We were really happy to have the same rooms when we came back after being away for one night- it felt like going home! For half the price of some of the fancier hotels, we got two rooms, one for my husband and myself, and one for our teenagers. It's an easy walk ( 10 minutes of a gradual uphill) from the Plaza de Armes. They helped us arrange transportation and guides whenever needed. It's not fancy, but has a relaxed atmosphere. It was quiet, even over New Years!

Room Tip: Room 307 had a great view and was on a corner.

“Best Hotel”

Loved this hotel. Quite, very helpful staff and just a short, no more than 5 minute, walk to the Plaza de Armas. The room was big, clean and had terry robes for our use and slippers. Also had a hair dryer and a mini bar so we could store our waters in the fridge to keep cold. Breakfast was great and a full assortment of choices. The 1/2 day Ruin tour was great- our guide was with us 5 1/2 hours (no extra charge) and included the Cathedral and Qorikancha. I would definitely recommend this hotel. (We were in a Superior room so don't know if the other rooms had the same things.) Stayed there Sept. 2011

“Great value, lovely hotel, good location.”

We stayed at this hotel twice, before and after the Inca Trail. It is located about minutes walk to the main square, which is full of shops, restaurants, people selling paintings etc. Its a pretty safe, clean area, with everything you need within walking distance.

The hotel is about 10 minutes from the airport via car, and is a very nice, old Peruvian building, secure, clean, lots of courtyards and sitting areas. Reception staff are helpful, everyone spoke English, Breakfast was good, but you need to go and speak to the staff if you want something (eg. eggs) as you won't get asked and this is included with the breakfast. Selection of fruits and cereals was good, very fresh, you either got cippolatas or bacon as the hot option, I only got bacon once out of 8 days.

Rooms were quite spacious and comfortable, TV's, fridges, airconditioning/heating, good storage. Bed was large and comfortable. First room was on ground floor, larger than normal, but noisy as it backed onto the breakfast room and the hallway was used as the main thoroughfare for guests arriving and leaving with suitcases. Second time we were upstairs, slightly smaller but quieter.

Overall, this was an excellent experience, I would recommend this to anyone. I will upload a couple of photos shortly, although I didn't take any of the room unfortunately.

Room Tip: Avoid room on the ground floor, to the left, they back onto the Breakfast area, and people use the w...

“Lovely Haven”

We were delighted to find this hotel to stay in Cusco. We ended up staying three nights before doing the Inca Trail, and checked in for a night on our return (highly recommended if you have been trekking for 4 days, comfy beds, quiet, nice bathroom, nice breakfast room etc). It is in a good part of town, close to the main square but quiet, with nice restaurants nearby. We enjoyed pizza in a tiny unnamed place almost opposite the hotel, you won't know it is there unless they are open, it had room just for 4 tables and a pizza oven .

I travelled with a friend and for $100 inc breakfast and free coca tea, we had a nice modern room with two double beds, including all the amenities you might want - fridge, safe, dressing gown - and a duvet! Clearly you can find cheaper places in the city but it was worth it. Plus how many hotels do you stay in with an original Incan Door?! (Rumi Punku = Inca Door)

Friendly staff and nice food too - 5 star.

Room Tip: We asked for a room with 2 beds, would have been happy with 2 singles but had two double (queen) siz...

“Excelent Deal in Cusco”

This hotel was a real bargain in Cusco. We stayed for 3 nights (including new year's eve) in 3 guys, and the room was huge, the beds really confortable and everything worked fine. The building of the hotel is beautiful, the staff is friendly and is always anger to help. The breakfast is honest and the coca tea served abundantly really helps with the soroche. Also, the location is perfect, 3 blocks from the Plaza de Armas. Very good bet!!!!
