The location is great, only a 5 minute walk to the Plaza de Armas if even that. It is in a nice neighborhood and we never felt unsafe walking the streets, not even late at night. The fact that we traveled in the rainy season ( low tourism) perhaps is the reason why service was extremely low key. ACTUALLY THAT IS NO EXCUSE, because elsewhere in Peru ( especially Chinchero,Sacred Valley) the careful attention paid by staff was beyond anything I have ever experienced before. I think the problem is there wasn't enough staff. We barely ever even saw anybody other than the bartender at night when we sat in the lounge, a few minutes at check in and a few minutes at check out. Breakfast, which is included was nothing special but enough to not go hungry. The hotel itself is quite nice and is tastefully decorated, beds comfortable, but that is not enough to deserve a second visit.
