“The simplest and most exciting planetarium I have ever been”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

I like visiting planetariums in my trips. The interesting point is that although this is the simplest planetarium that I have ever visited, it is at same time the most interesting one.

It is a family enterprise (or at least seems to be so). You will have at around one and a half hour class of the Inca astronomy (and comparisons with the mainstream astronomy) with people who really love what they are saying to you. Also, depending on the weather conditions you will see the stars through good telescopes.

I have not seen this attraction in any traditional guide, just through trip advisor. I recommend the planetarium to anyone visiting Cusco who likes planetariums. Anyway, it is interesting to go only if you have more time in your visit to Cusco.

“An excellent introduction to both Incan culture and astronomy”

As an astrophysicist, I was incredibly impressed with the facilities that the planetarium had-- without any external funding, they managed to build a planetarium bigger than my former university's, and had several telescopes set up for outside observing. It was much more than just a planetarium show, with a detailed background of Incan astronomy and its uses both inside and outside of the dome, along with the night-time observations of several planets and deep sky objects. They also were able to schedule an affordable private show for two people (as we were there during a time with few tourists); they are also bilingual, for non-Spanish speakers like myself. This institute provides a much needed introduction to cultural astronomy and acknowledgement of the wonderful contributions of the Incas to the field.

“An amazing evening”

I went to the planetarium as the only English speaking person in the group and was to feel really comfortable. The introduction and explaination was fantastic, especially how little Santi translated everything that Ana was saying perfectly. Although it was too cloudy to see the stars, I still had a wonderful time

“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We went to visit the planetarium on the 30th and had AN AMAZING time. We were explained what the sky meant to the incas and then we learned how to spot different constellations. As the sky was clear we were able to see the moon, orions belt, subaru and jupiter. We were so lucky the weather was perfect! We were able to take a picture of the moon through the microscope and it came out PERFECT, we could actually see the moon's craters in the picture!! If you want a glimpse of what you can see, go to their facebook page, we've tagged them on our picture!

“Eye opening and culturally valuable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

These guys went out of their way to get us to the Planetarium in time for the show. To the point that they arranged a special driver to take us there, the rather dignified and eloquent Founder of the Planetarium himself! We were SO glad they did. This tour is a very complementary way to understand the Sacred valley and its deeper history, through the eyes and the skies of its own native people.
