“To avoid, overpriced, cleanliness issues, we arrived and soon left.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

This hostal is way overpriced and provides no frills whatsoever in its rooms. We found several issues with cleanliness in the shower curtain (pink fungi), room covers (hairs) and dust in the corners of the room. The view of the hotel is a pile of rubble where dogs sleep and constantly bark. The rooms were extremely cold and they did not provide any heaters. The third floor of the building is under construction although we were not sure any work was being done at the time. The kitchen was rather small and I doubt it would allow no more than 4 people at a time to have their breakfast (included in the price). We conveyed to them our list of concerns and left without any hazzle. To be fair, we must say that the service was very good (welcome, politeness), it has a nice covered, sunny yard inside the building and it is centrally located.

“Don't Miss Hostel Quechua in Cuzco!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 June 2009

Hi--
My spouse and I took a group of 8 university students for a tour of Peru and stayed at the Quechua 3 days while in Cuzco. I was so glad I chose this hostel. The level of personal attention from the owner, Orlando, was wonderful and, as it turned out, greatly needed. One of our students came down with amoebic dysentery and was VERY sick when we arrived at the hostal. Orlando called a doctor (a wonderful one!) who came to the hostel immediately to administer aid. The doctor returned to check on her, found her no better, and admitted her to the hospital! All turned out well, but I could have never survived the stress without Orlando there to help guide me through local customs, give directions to the hospital, the pharmacy, etc., etc.

Orlando, being a native of Cuzco, also had great close by suggestions for places to eat dinner--wonderful native food at great prices. We were amazed. The location is within easy walking distance of the central square too.

Also, the hostal itself is lovely, very clean and very safe being behind a gated entryway. We loved the beautiful morning breakfasts waiting for us everyday in the light-filled patio, and also the constant presence of the soothing coca tea always at our disposal. I would highly recommend the Quechua to anyone who wants charm, value, and location for their stay in Cuzco.

“Great shower”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2009

My wife and I got to this hostal after spending two nights at Carlos V hotel. All we needed was a clean and confortable bedroom with a nice hot shower. And the hostal offered exactly what we wnated. The owner was very friendly and even helped us choosing a restaurant for dinner. Our bedroom was nice. However, we didn't get our king bed we wanted so we needed to put our two beds together (that's because we didnt book our room so we had to get the one that was avaiable). They have a computer that guests can use for free. I felt it was a little overpriced, though. But after having spent the previous two nights in a terrible hotel, I'd pay 50 bucks for a simple shower. By the way, the bathroom was clean and spacious. We didn't have the chance of eating breakfast because we headed to Macchu Picchu very early in the morning. The hotel is close to the city market (worth a visit) and the train station. It's a very pleasant ten-minute walk to the center of the city from the hotel so I wouldn't bother about its location.

“We arrived and promptly left”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 April 2009

Not for us, the room was cold, very small, barely room was two twin beds, bare and basic in the extreme. Depressing ambience and a view of a pile of building rubble and a filthy window. I guess that`s why it was so cheap but we left immediately.

“Friendly and helpful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2008

I stayed in Cuzco in this hotel, Quechua hostal, and I am very satisfied. Very friendly, clean, confortable and at the right price.
Only five minutes walk from Plaza De Armas, and near to San Pedro train station.
When I will come back to Peru I will stay there again.
