We were so lucky to have been able to stay here! Ana is the consumate hostess and we felt cared for and welcome. We used the kitchen a few times to save on going out. The view of the mountains from her roof terrace is awe-inspiring and her breakfasts were the best we have had in our 6 months on the road.
The beds and linens were top rate - our only sleep issue was some construction on Calle Misti diverted traffic onto the small road running beside her hostal (because there are no street signs, taxis honk to alert other cars they are coming) - this problem was really only a problem in the early morning - when it was light out. The beds were so comfy, we wanted to sleep in!
The neighborhood, Yanahuara, is classic colonial and we did not mind our walk to town on the days we went. The walk is about 20 mins to the Plaza or a 10 minute taxi ride back (due to traffic). I look forward to returning to Arequipa and would not consider staying anywhere else.
