My friend and I stayed here one night as part of our GAP Adventures tour in November last year. There is literally nowhere else to stay if you're making the long drive from Paracas to Arequipa, so just be glad it's here.
The best I can do is help you prepare for your stay here, so my advice to you is the following:
-Bring a wind breaker! Even in November, the weather was quite chilly. At the time of our visit, the only place to dine was outside.
-Bring snacks. There is only one kitchen -- and it takes FOREVER. Food is ok - I had pasta, soup, and bread for the 3 meals I had here. Again, since you're eating outside, your meal will get cold very quickly.
-Drink a lot. They serve a mean Pisco Sour here - if you're not the adventurous type, then sit back, enjoy the drinks, and return to your room to pass out.
-If you are the 'adventurous' type, there are plenty of ruins to explore around the hotel. One side has ruins that can take a good 3-4 hours to explore (be sure to stop and mock the hilarious signage while avoiding the random human remains that lie about), while the other side has jagged rocks and great views of the coastline - though I don't recommend this as my clothing and hands were nicely destroyed after an hour. Be sure to head back to the hotel before sunset!
-Bring entertainment. Cards, smartphone, anything. There is no TV here and it can get boring at night.
If you shower in the evening, chances are that your water will be cold. A friend of mine had gone on same trip a week prior to us so I had some warning. I asked the front desk to turn the hot water on for me and they did so without issue.
