i stayed at another hostel farther out for my first night and switched here based on the advice of some other travelers. posada de cacique is just a few blocks away from the city center, and the owner is extremely helpful. the hostel is busy with lots of other travelers, but fairly quiet, with a great rooftop patio. the building itself is old and charming, and most of the rooms get great light.

Be careful about the address, it's located on Jerusalen, but used to be on Puente Grau, so make sure you go to the right location. The staff are very helpful and friendly - loved practicing speaking spanish with us, booked us a tour to Colca Canyon, and bought us bus tickets for the next leg of our trip. The door is always locked, you have to be escorted in or out so it is very safe. In a good location, close to Plaza de Armas, etc. Only 1 shower, but it was warm when I used it. Internet available and kitchen, as well as rooftop patio. Not the best quality of comfortable beds and bathrooms, but for less than $15 for 2 nights, it was a great hostel!

Housed in a colonial house, high ceilings , bright sun light filled rooms, hot showers, roof top terrace!The staff was so friendly and helpful.We felt right at home!

Clean, quiet, cosy. Good value. Family-run hostel. Very friendly and helpful staff.
