Excellent accommodations. Very friendly and helpful staff gave us directions to the nearest overlook and instructions on how to look for condors. Comfortable beds and modern bathroom with lots of hot water. Continental breakfast but was able to order scrambled eggs for 3 soles.

We stayed at this hotel, or at least it's offshoot (Same name, but with Travel Lodge at the end of it and in a slightly different area of the same village) whilst on an organised tour inside of Colca Canyon.

The room was basic, just a bed, lights and a nice enough bathroom (always hot water) - but it was spacious. The hotel reception was also basic, as was the kitchen (but breakfast was tasty and had quite a reasonable selection and provided us with a 'proper' Peruvian packed lunch).

The location and views, especially from the second floor, were however very nice. The street up to the hotel was a dirt track though, so be warned!

Overall - basic, but it was just a place for the night really and if you are staying for more than 1 night I'd look for alternatives.

I stayed here in Dec 2006, they gave us a matrimonial room for $15 for the night but I think their on-season prices (June-Aug) might be double that, we got a discount because we were the only people there. The room was clean and nice, had very reliable hot water, its a basic place to stay, no TVs in the room because theres no cable tv in Cabanaconde (or internet or cell phone signal for that matter), but they do include continental breakfast and have a nice sized Direct TV down in the restaurant, which is also open for breakfast and dinner. The guy behind the desk was very friendly and helpful. Theres a payphone in the lobby too, I think thats the phone number they give out to receive calls, the phone doesn't have many phone lines. Cabanaconde is a small town but I recommend staying there
