My wife and I stayed at Sonesta Posadas del Inca Arequipa on our recent Peru trip. For two nights, then another night after our trip to Colca canyon. We stayed in a superior room with a matrimonial bed, it had a patio area with an arched window looking out over the plaza. Great location even if you don't have a room with the patio.
Rooms were very pleasant, not huge, but a good size, nice decor. Breakfast was great and the staff excellent.
We did have a bit of a mix up with the room rate on the first part of the stay, but we managed to sort it out on the return trip, and I just got the refund from visa a few days back.

The best thing about this hotel is its incredible location. It is located in the heart of the city right in the plaza de armas. You can view the plaza and cathedral and beautiful night lighting from the restaurant on the second floor. All the major attractions are a short walk away, which is really convenient because you can visit some places, come back to the hotel to rest if needed, and then head out again. It's location is incredible.

The staff also seemed friendly and helpful, and most of them spoke English. Our room was comfortable, with all the luxuries of a regular 4-star hotel. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast spread was great with many options. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay and a clean, nice hotel.

We stayed here 2 nights in December and found it wonderful. The first night we had two rooms in the middle of the hotel. These were fine: clean and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent and their wine list quite extensive. We then travelled to the Colca Canyon for a night and returned to the Sonesta. I had asked if we could be considered for a front of house room when we left for Colca and they obliged. These were big rooms with KS beds and a balcony overlooking the Cathedral and plaza. Fantastic and much appreciated. Breakfasts were great as well with an extensive variety of dishes. All the attractions of Arequipa are close at hand including shops and Santa Catalina. The district is safe and clean. It's usually hard to please everyone, but all of us enjoyed staying here and wish we'd had longer.

Nice hotel with a great location, right on the main Square of the city. Also in walking distance of many nice restaurants. The room was nice and comfortable and had a flat screen tv. The bathroom was clean and the water nice and hot. The breakfast at the hotel was also very good. We stayed 2 nights here.
