We stayed here for four nights - three nights in a large room on the top floor before going on a trek into Colca Canyon, and one more night in a smaller room upon our return. The larger room had a separate sink for washing clothes (they ask you not to wash clothes in the normal sinks), but cost 10 soles more than the smaller room without the sink.
The two women that were running the place while we were there were extremely friendly, and one of them spoke decent English. We had to get picked up at 3am to go on our Canyon trek, and one of the women stayed up so she could come get us in our room when they arrived, instead of us waiting in street.
The water temperature was unreliable. It would get scalding hot for about a minute, then get freezing cold and stay that way.
The hostel is a few blocks from the Plaza, and it's quieter than staying at a guesthouse on Jerusalen, but there's still street noise. The street is a bit sketchy after midnight, but not too bad.
