The hotel public areas and rooms use Spanish colonial style, and the room was spacious. The hotel was 2 or 3 blocks from the main square, and the neighborhood had shops but was quiet at night. Breakfast was great, including choice of eggs.

This is a very nicely redone boutique hotel right in downtown Cuenca. Great character, incredible service, good free breakfasts but one large issue.

Concrete walls in an atrium format with creaking wooden floors on each level = you can hear everything from the kids running up and down the hall, people at breakfast etc.

Bottomline, if you are used to that level of noise etc. this is a great place with great people. If you value your sleep - probably better off looking somewhere else.

I read the reviews prior to my trip to Cuenca. I found the staff to be extremely hospitable and the breakfast that was included, was more than ample. My sister and I shared a room, and my other sister had room 308,which was beautiful.
The location was perfect and the restaurants a great find. There is a fabulous restaurant directly across the street which is a must during your stay.

We were disappointed with this hotel - the rooms were either poky and dark or noisy - the breakfast was very poor with little choice and no flexibility between the different menus - the staff were themselves confused over the start time of breakfast - some said 7 others 7.30 - not what you want when you are on a tight time schedule in the morning. Additionally there is no bar for use in the evenings.
