I was with my family there in our last vacations. The pool was great, the sourondings was incredible, The weather is "unic" in the Paute, this place is close to Cuenca, thanks for your attentions.

While living in Cuenca for a month, we were lucky enough to find out about Hosteria Uzhupud. We spent a wonderful relaxing 2 days and a night there. The spacious grounds are lovely, the room most comfortable, and the food at the restaurant was wonderful. The evening was cold and damp the night we were there and our friends and us sat around the firepace enjoying wine and conversation. The hotel staff kept the fire roaring with plenty of logs. Unfortunately it was too cool for us to use the pool, but it looked beautiful and inviting. What a wonderful escape from city life. Also, the hotel provided efficicient and comfortable transportation to and from the city at a reasonable cost.

Pros: beautiful, clean, spacious, friendly

Cons: wireless needed enhancement (but we supplied that)

Summary: Great place to hold your company retreat! Not too far away from Cuenca but isolated enough for your team to bond AND be productive.

Hosteria Uzhupud is one of our favorite destinations, for my wife and I, especially when we need to find peace and tranquility in a setting, second to none. Everyone loves going to the beach, and enjoying the sand, the sun and the water, but once you have experienced the wonderful environment created in and around this resort, you may never go to the beach again. The facilities are five star from every aspect. The rooms are well equipped and spacious, the center and all the surrounding buildings are clean and well maintained. The gardens, the planters and the shrubbery are all beautifully manicured. There are places to rest, read and just enjoy being alone and there are places to sit and enjoy the company and camaraderie of others. If you enjoy tennis, swimming, horseback riding, bicycle trekking, hiking in the mountains or along a river’s bank, visit Uzhupud.
My wife and I have enjoyed every visit we have made to Uzhupud. We enjoy the scenic journey out and back as we drive along the banks of the Paute River and through the narrow passes between beautiful mountains. Once we arrive, we are greeted by friendly, bilingual staff members and a very refreshing, fruit nectar beverage. The entire staff team is always happy to be of service to us. We have enjoyed many meals and love the international food offerings.
The grounds are a true joy to explore. Peace and quiet awaits and greets us each time we visit. If we desire a physical challenge, that is also awaiting us just outside the door to our suite/room.
In the evening we have found the area surrounding the wood burning fireplace to be a very stimulating, gathering spot for us as well as many of the other guests.
